Privacy Policy
Effective September 18, 2026
World of Words (the “Service”) is a reading and vocabulary app at textable.win. This policy explains what information the Service collects, how it uses it, and when it shares it. For privacy requests, email [email protected].
Information you provide and we receive
- Account sign-in: When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your provider account ID, email address, display name, and profile photo URL. Google sign-in requests only the profile and email scopes. We use this information to create and maintain your account, show your profile, and associate your saved vocabulary and subscription with you. We do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, or other Google content. OAuth access and refresh tokens are not stored in our user database.
- Dictionary activity: We receive the word you look up and the languages and dictionary source you choose. When signed in, eligible searches can be saved to your word history. You can remove individual saved words in the app.
- Suggestions: If you submit feedback, we store its text with your account and send the text and selected language to Anthropic for automated content validation. Service administrators can review submitted suggestions and the associated account information.
- Subscriptions: If you subscribe, we store subscription status, billing period, and Stripe or PayPal customer or subscription identifiers. Stripe or PayPal handles payment details; the Service does not store your full card number.
- Technical and security data: We record request paths, methods, counts, last request times, and an account ID or IP address to operate the Service, enforce limits, and investigate abuse. We may also record IP address and country in abuse-control records.
PDF files and browser storage
PDFs opened in the reader are processed and stored in your browser, including its IndexedDB storage; the reader does not upload the full PDF to our server. When you look up a word from a PDF, that word and the selected languages are sent to the Service for a dictionary or translation result. Your browser also stores reading positions, language choices, theme, and a list of recently used sign-in accounts in local storage. You can remove this browser data through your browser settings.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. In production it is secure and inaccessible to page scripts; it expires after seven days. We do not currently use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.
How information is used and shared
We use information to provide sign-in, word lookup, saved history, subscriptions, feedback, security controls, and support. Lookup words and language selections may be sent to Google Translate or Wiktionary to provide results. Google or GitHub handles the sign-in flow. Stripe or PayPal handles payment processing when offered. Anthropic receives submitted suggestion text for validation. Our hosting and database providers process information needed to run the Service. These providers may process information in countries other than yours.
We do not sell your Google account information or use it for advertising. We do not share your Google profile information with dictionary providers as part of a word lookup.
Retention, choices, and requests
We keep account, saved word, suggestion, subscription, and security records while needed to operate the Service, resolve issues, and meet legal obligations. Some records may remain after an account closes when required for billing or security. You can delete saved words in the app and clear local PDF and preference data in your browser. To request access, correction, or deletion of account data, email [email protected]; we will handle requests according to applicable law.
Security and changes
We use access controls and secure connections to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the Service changes. The date above shows when this version took effect, and material changes will be posted here.
